Expansion of Primary Facility

The primary C- Band FCC License allows for uplinking of an unlimited number of analog/digital radio or TV channels to be operated from this specific and  particular location. License PDF

The facility now has C - Band and KU Band access making it capable of reaching virtually every Cable System and nearly every TV and Radio Station in the Americas.

The Earth Station (Teleport) is protected by FCC Regulations from direct interference in a specified area. The area is defined as part of the engineering on file with the original application. Protection Map

In addition, the Earth Station can transmit audio and video to receivers equipped with 30 inch dish antennas. This technology (with a $150 receiver and antenna setups) lends it self well to digital direct from space distribution to homes, offices, public venues, hotels, taverns and other special applications.

The C- Band Earth Station is located on a bluff overlooking the Suwannee River just outside the small community of White Springs near the I-10 and I-75 intersection in upper Florida.  It  is situated on a fenced lot with a studio and master control room for talk/music program transmission, a 2,100 sq. foot executive home/office building, separate uplink and control buildings and a swimming pool.

The location of the earth station, quite literally, is  yards from fiber optic access, positioning WSM at the junction of the fiber optic trunk lines serving Tampa, Orlando and Miami to the south, Atlanta, Washington D.C. and New York to the north and New Orleans, Dallas and Los Angeles to the west ... providing the earth station with superior optic connectivity. In addition, the transmitting facility and duplicate studio have new full-power back-up systems capable of providing approximately 30 days back-up power.

In September of 2004, WSM opened a duplicate broadcast studio a short distance from the uplink facility ... also the residence of the Director of Operations ... allowing the transmitters can be controlled from either location.

The technical facility is well positioned for upgrade and expansion.

In early August 2005, a second Satellite earth station  (teleport) to be operated by White Springs Media  was commissioned at Titusville near Orlando, Florida. This KU Band Facility is equipped for transmission of both audio (radio) and video (television). This facility is now in operation and distributing radio programs to stations across the USA and Canada as well as digital TV signal to the same footprint.
